a perfectly wing lined eye is a beautiful thing. there is something mysterious in a winged liner look – something intriguing that gives off a very Sofia Loren vibe that is undeniably gorgeous, sultry and sexy. it’s a look that every woman should try at least once in her lifetime to open up her eyes and evoke the essence of her inner Cleopatra or phoenix.
winged liner comes off as difficult, but with much patience and a little practice, it’s much easier than it seems. this creation is an inspirational
Valentine’s Day “whenever you want to be a sexy beast” look, a combination of a cat eye and reverse cat eye which when put together, flashes when you blink your eyes to those around you as the silhouette of a strong and powerful bird. a phoenix. it’s powerful and sexy.
i wanted to create something that went far beyond basic black and the Hard Candy ‘Feelin’ Blue?’ Top Ten Eyeshadow Collection worked perfectly for this look. a combination of two of the beautiful metallic blues in this pallet – fourth from the left and last on the right – the finish pops and is just the right amount of shimmer to keep the look classy and edgy. Kat Von D True Romance Beethoven Eyeshadow Palette and NYX Love In Paris Eyeshadow Palette are full of metallic, deep blues that would also give you this look.
after filling in your lid below your crease with the two colors evenly blended, add your winged tips on the inner and outer corners of your eyes with a Kohl Eyeliner and then drawing a line from the inner and outer eye right at the top of the shadow at your crease to add some dimension and to create your “Phoenix.”
Nikia’s face is glowing thanks to an illuminator. Laura Mercier Radiance Primer will prime your foundation (or not as you can also wear it alone) and give you a glowing face, and her rich, burgundy lipstick is the creation of a few swipes of Kat Von D ‘Painted Love’ Homegirl Lipstick which rounds this makeup out perfectly for a vampy finish. Wet n Wild Cherry Bomb is also a great rich, deep red lipstick match. optionally, this eye works great with a natural glossed lip as well for those of you who like to rock the combination of a bold eye with a bare lip.
this look is much more than a cat eye. it’s more lioness much more stronger than just your average kitty. you’ll feel vibes of a strong and powerful creature ready to take on the world. aptly named, the cliche fits perfectly for the model at hand, no? and let us not pretend that the side eye that you may have to give someone when you just so happen have your eyes made up this way would be k-i-l-l-e-r. and even if you don’t have to cut your eyes do it anyway, just so people can see just how sexy you really are. be fly ladies. (see what i did there?)
