You have not fallen into a time warp. Yep, that’s a bottle of hair cream from vo5 that you are seeing on your screen and yes we revisited this cult brand to try out their new salon series hair care line. Their new line is full of professional shampoos, conditioners, hair styling creams and treatments that are all enhanced with a blend of 11 natural vitamin oils to help fortify and moisturize hair giving you that salon-like experience. And we are always down for anything salon-like.

We happily welcome vo5 (back) to the oil-all-up-and-in-our-hair-products club with open arms. As former hot oil cultist, we were excited to get our hands on this new line to test out the goods starting with what a lot of curly girls want before they want anything else – shine and frizz fighting.

Like most styling creams, the VO5 Salon Series Anti-Frizz And Shine Styling Cream can be applied to wet or dry hair before you start your styling. Tried out both ways, we didn’t prefer one way over the other but found that this cream works really great for dry hair touch ups. Got a little frizzy-frizz going on? Got ends gone a little haywire? Then this cream will be your buddy in a tight pinch. We liked this on damp hair the best and found that a quick spritz with water or a water-based leave-in and then a small amount of this pulled through our hair kept our curls tamed and shiny. And speaking of which, this products makes your hair shine and adds a great amount of sheen to hair that is on the kinkier spectrum.

As for the ingredients, there was no let down there. From the acai berry to the green tee, quinoa, honey and aloe vera juice (and many, many more goodies) our hopes for this packing a punch were not let down. Put this down as one of those super secret drugstore products that sneaks up on you. They tell no lies when it comes to the ingredients. All that talk about vitamin this and oil that, yep, this tube is full of a fortified cream (did we mention the biotin and panthenol?) that smells so good (really good – very soft and fresh) and works great and all for less than five dollars. vo5 is back in the house.
