Since upping our makeup game, we’ve been using and testing out a lot of foundations. From light coverage to long-wear to mineral and organic, we’ve got a pretty good roster going. In all of that testing and using (we’ll be bombarding you with foundation reviews like this one), one of the foundations we liked and recently used was Revlon ColorStay Foundation-an affordable, drugstore foundation for long-wear lovers.
The finish of Revlon ColorStay Foundation is lightweight and when blended well and used over a primer, it does not cake or rub off. Say good bye to leaving your mark on every shoulder you hug or the inside of your tee shirts. There are versions for both oily and dry/normal skin and n both skin types it finishes with a silky feel that dries matte. Over pimples and acne scars it covered well. Again, it was all about the blend with this foundation, so if you blend it well, you won’t get that cakey look around your pimples that scream out, “Look at me! I’m trying to hide but not really!”
You’ll still need a moisturizer, SPF and primer underneath this foundation-and we highly suggest both to get the best finish. Applying this foundation with a wet beauty blender helped us to get the best finish. And speaking of finish, the finish is natural but a tad on the heavier side since it’s a medium to full coverage liquid, so this is not the foundation to make you look like you don’t have any makeup on but it did last all day-about nine hours-and washed off relatively easy with two rounds of face cleanser.
