We’ve touched on a lot of things itchy, dry skin and eczema related. Between lotions and bath soaks and body washes, there are a few things at your disposal that can help to calm your skin including easy home remedies. If you are a lover of all things do it yourself, you may want to try making this oatmeal, rosewater and aloe eczema mask. It sounds so complicated, but it’s so easy you could do it in your sleep.
INGREDIENTS
Small Bowl
Metal Spoon
1/2 Cup of plain Oats
1/4 Cup of Plain Greek Yogurt (fat percentage does not matter)
1/4 Cup of Aloe Vera Juice or Gel
1/4 Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel
1/4 Raw Honey
1/4 Olive Oil (optional)
HOW TO MAKE AN OATMEAL MASK FOR ECZEMA
Pour the oats, honey and greek yogurt in a bowl. Combine the Aloe Vera and Witch Hazel in a pot and simmer on low to warm. Do not boil. During this time your house will start to smell like a rose garden. Once it starts to simmer, remove from the heat and add the liquids to the bowl with the oats and yogurt. Stir slowly to combine well. The heated mixture will help to break down the oats so let the mixture sit covered for about five minutes. Once cooled you can apply it to your face or anywhere you have skin irritation. Once cooled, add the olive oil if you’d like. If you find oatmeal soothing, you can also do a colloidal oatmeal bath soak with bentonite.
