Recently, we realized that pomades were those products that were unlikely to cause us to want to really use them any other way than on our edges and…well, on our edges. But then you pick up a pomade with a little glitter and shimmer inside and suddenly we’re scientist and want to experiment with how to use it. It’s a good thing we did because we found some new tricks.
Motions Shine Enhancing Pomade was one of the pomades that we tested and liked. Firstly it’s non-greasy. Sometimes grease is the opposite look you’re going for and this jar of gold is all good. Yes, it’s a pomade, but it’s also leaves your hair feeling moisturized once it wears off. We love that as most pomades dry your hair out as they dry out. Though it has a beautiful gold sheen in the jar, it goes on clear and leaves just a touch of shine in your hair that’s not glittery at all but more of a healthy hair shine.
This pomade worked well on everything from wavy to kinky hair so it’s all texture friendly. The hold is soft to medium that way you can style your hair any way you want. Which leads us to our experiment. We used this on our edges of course and it worked great, keeping them softly smoothed back all day without a greasy feel and we also used this pomade to tame the frizzies during the week and for our ends when we wanted to smooth them down on a little bit of a humid day. It works great on your ends or just a dime sized amount rubbed through your hair to help set your braids (loose plats and cornrows) and twists overnight. Honestly, we’d never used a pomade to style our hair before but we found that we’ve been missing out on using a pomade for more than slicking our edges and hair back into buns.
The shine that Motions Shine Enhancing Pomade gives is crazy pretty and the hold is so soft and moisturizing. This is not your old school pomade that left grease streaks everywhere. This is that new new, people.
