What woman of color is a stranger to the #struggle that is finding the perfect shade of foundation? Being a makeup artist, I can recall off the top of my head which brands work best and have a vared array of tones and if I can’t find what I need for a client, I can usually mix up something really quickly. But I also realize that this is not practical for everyone. So when someone asks me what I recommend for foundation, one of my most common recommendations is always MAC Matchmaster Foundation.

I love this line of foundations from MAC because they have a range of shades that matches the lightest skin to the darkest. When you put this foundation on, it sort of oxidizes to match your skin tone – hence the name. It matches flawlessly and gives you a smooth crease and cake-free finish. I consider this an everyday foundation because it’s build-able. The texture is medium and it can be built to full coverage. It also has SPF 15 which is great for protecting your skin (always keep in mind that 15-30 SPF is good daily coverage for your skin whether you get that in your foundation or moisturizer under your foundation). When I’ve used MAC Matchmaster Foundation on different skin tones, it matches each time and looks so much like real skin. I like to apply this with a flat top stiff brush. I feel like this brush gives me the best results because I get a much more flawless demi-matte finish than I get from a Beauty Blender or Sponge.

If you’re looking for a new foundation or just want to add a foundation with a different finish to your stash, try MAC Matchmaster Foundation out and let us know how you like it.
