Carol’s Daughter Marula Curl Therapy Collection has us a little intrigued. Honestly, it’s the marula oil that brought this line to our attention seeing as a drop of marula oil is a heavyweight in comparison to many other oils that we love. Take argan for example. Like it’s native sister, argan, marula oil is native to Africa but unlike argan oil, marula oil has 50% more antioxidant power. It also has Omega 6 & 9 fatty acids, finishes on hair and skin smooth and grease-less because of it’s fast absorption and smells light and delicate. That’s like an oil knockout.
Carol’s Daughter Marula Curl Therapy Collection includes Marula Curl Therapy Gentle Cream Cleanser which is a creamy, sulfate-free cleanser, Marula Curl Therapy Softening Hair Mask which is a deep-conditioning treatment, Marula Curl Therapy Softening Serum which is a blend of hair-softening oils that leaves a glossy finish and the Marula Curl Therapy Diffusing & Styling Lotion which is a styling cream which has a soft gel-like texture and soft hold finish.
The shampoo has a creamy texture that feels soft and silky. The marula oil is light enough to moisturize while the shampoo finishes somewhere in between a cleansing cream and regular sulfate free shampoo. The styling lotion reminds us of more of a styling cream gel because it has someone what of a stickier consistency. This styling lotion would work best on finer and looser curls if you’re looking for more curl definition but will be a toss up on coarse or kinky, type 4 hair since it’s so light weight. The oil is a great combination of oils including olive oil, watermelon seed, argan, rose and marula oils. From this combination alone, it’s easy to see why this oil works to soften your hair and can be used on either wet or dry hair depending on the results you’re looking for.
All of the products from this line smell amazing and we like to think this is the best smelling line from Carol’s Daughter we’ve ever had the pleasure of inhaling. And that pink packaging is really pretty and complimentary to what’s in the bottles – you almost want to scratch and sniff it. The smell is soft and reminiscent of a spring bouquet. This collection also promises six times more manageability and double the curl definition when used all together. We like the fact that they’ve upped the ante with marula oil and think this is a great buy for all you Carol’s Daughter heads out there.
