We don’t always want to slather on lipstick. Am I right? Let’s say you’re heading out for a lunch date or running a few errands. You want to wear something subtle and pretty. You’re going for a soft color that’s maybe a step up from your usual natural lip. Finding the right shade of nude can be frustrating. I’ve tried the foundation on my mouth trick, and it doesn’t work. I end up looking like a crazy lady with ashy lips.
We’ve recently added Buxom Lip Foundation to our list of go-to products when we want a good nude (and non-ashy lip) for the lightest lips to the darkest. It’s a creamy, matte and opaque formula that goes on really smooth. Buxom True Nude Lip Foundation comes in 6 different shades and one clear matte–which means they work for women of color who have darker lip tones. There is also no need for a lip liner. We love that it’s a convenient stick–it features a precision lip-defining tip so it glides on perfectly. We tried a few shades on Ferriss, a fashion and wardrobe stylist and our muse for the day (her bone structure is everything, right?), and like Nude for a lighter, more simple lip. What really pops on her is the Au Naturel True Nude Lip Foundation. See how it brings out those flushed cheeks? Banging! The slightly darker Bare, is a beautiful chestnut brown that looks really pretty on Ferriss’s skin tone and would look even prettier on darker skin tones.
Finding the right lip foundation is pretty easy. Instead of trying to match the color to your face, you should actually try to match it to your actual, natural lip color. The goal is to enhance what you already have and cover minor flaws or discoloration. Your lips will look smooth and kissable. Oh, and I forgot to mention…this matte lip foundation is long-lasting. No need to reapply through out the day. Wear alone or under your favorite gloss if you want to amp up your sex appeal.
