Blue eyeliner has become a very chic, polished and beautiful makeup statement. Because of its boldness in comparison to standard black liner, I like to challenge myself to come up with creative ideas for pulling off blue liner in a way that is not overwhelming (and in some cases even workplace friendly for those that find themselves that lucky).
For this look, I decided to try a bold but still somewhat subtle approach (as subtle as blue liner can be) so that the focus of this blue liner was not overwhelming on Nikia’s eyes. The result is very gorgeous and vibrant and demonstrates exactly why it is possible to wear blue liner during the day (with your natural lashes and a light coat of black mascara) or night and make it work. I kept her face very natural and clean using a little moisturizer mixed with a few drops of illuminizer to give her face just a a hit of glow. Her lashes are blue/black wispies.
Nikia On Her Look: “Blue is definitely one of my favorite colors, but I?ve never figured out how to incorporate that into my makeup options until now. This look is a far cry from the crazy blue shadow women wore in the 80s. It?s precision and sophistication make this liner desirable. The blue is alluring and really brings the focus straight to my dark brown eyes. Who knew this color could be edgy and flirty at the same time. What else can I say about this look? It?s electric!”
