Have you ever noticed that your morning foundation application can go from pristine to pitiful before you?ve even finished your coffee? It is important to moisturize all skin types because human skin is like a sponge and will absorb the moisture that it comes in contact with. A clean and hydrated complexion will result in a flawless and long-wearing look.
When skin comes in contact with foundation prior to a moisturizer, skin absorbs the moisture properties in your foundation, leaving you with a blotchy, greasy residue throughout your face. If your skin condition is dry, apply a thin layer of water-based moisturizer prior to your liquid foundation. Your skin will consume the layer of moisturizer and your makeup application is sure have a longer life! If oily or combination is your skin?s current status, add a skin balancing step to your morning makeup equation. Toning will help to resolve the overproduction of sebum. Did you know that the right moisturizer can act as a makeup primer? The trick to using moisturizer as a primer is don?t over do it! Use a sponge to add a pearl sized amount of primer to your “problem” areas. If you?ve got a shiny forehead, then apply the primer to the forehead.
